A Thought To Cheer You Up!

In these slightly troubling times, I just wanted to share
a thought. it may be one you’ve heard before but it does not hurt
to repeat it.

Gratitude.

I try to be grateful for whatever I can be grateful about. Who I
am, what I have, the good things around me.

In a world where the focus is increasingly upon lack and danger,
it’s also a good thing to be grateful for whatever gifts you
enjoy.

For some, it might be good health. For others, a nice home,
children, your parents, a great job, inner peace. You know what
it is for you.

Of course, if you’re hard put to find anything, you can be glad
about sunny days, green trees, a bird or squirrel you might
happen to see.

So many people are worried, and let little things get them down
and be major issues. That should not be your way. Always try to
show gratitude. Not only is it the right thing to do, but in
doing so, you open yourself up to receive more abundance into
your life. If you hand if open, you can receive more. If you fist
is clenched tight shut, you cannot.

It’s as simple as that.

Regards,

  1. Yes Asoka,
I am in complete agreement with you about gratitude. This also fits in with what you have said about what we focus our attention on expanding. I use different words ” I say that what we focus our attention on, we attract to us.” but, the results are the same.

just last night I went to sleep counting all of the things I have in my life to be grateful for. I have found that the more I do this. The larger the list grows. This list not only includes material things. It also includes such things as my good health. For soom reason “for which I am grateful” the older I get. The healther I AM.

Asoka, As I am sure that you know. The way that we use I AM is also very important. We need to be very careful of of what of what we say or think when we say or think I AM……….

    That is all for now.

Thanks for the reminder about GRATITUDE,

    George Wooten

  4. Is it possible to comment the cheerful “Hello!”! One and only response may be only the joyful “Hi!” Dear Asoka, thank you!
“Wow!!! …” was my first response to your letter that I am going to frame and use as an announcement to the opening party of my art exhibition on 15 of October.

Dear Asoka, you have put on a paper what was burning in me myself, and thus the colors of my pictures were put in words and the visual contrasts have obtained the spiritual meaning that is clear to everyone and free from any interpretations.
I hearty thank you once more. I will be proud to announce you as the co-author of the forthcoming party.
Our correspondence will help to bridge faith & nitty-gritty. And it already blossoms with the hugest gratitude.
We discover ourselves by welcoming other.
Thank you for the trust and support.

    Sincerely yours,
    Tomas Karkalas

  5. Well, for a short message, it certainly seems to have been of help to several! Thank you all for your feedback.

I recall Oprah Winfrey, among others, teaches the use of a Gratitude Journal. Each day, you write something in it that you are grateful for. It seems a good idea to me.

  6. Thank you very much Asoka for this very serious comments on Gratitute. Last Friday I had a group of studies with my clients and we also mentioned during the course the importance of this period we are at the moment. Not only very critical but the most important transition never before lived on our Mother Earth. If you permit I would like to forward an email I received on the importance of the next days 17th and 18th of October and special meditation for the ocasion. If you confirm, please let me know to which email address this message should be sent and then you can forward to as many people as possible. Thank you very much and by Best Regards. Therezinha Radwanski.

‘Tua-u’ Asoka! Tua-u is a term that means Divine Gratitude in Medu Neter (Ancient Egyptian). It embraces the idea that the feelings and emotions that are present when gratitude is being expressed, creates a kind of benevolent all enveloping vortex that emminates from the person expressing the gratitude permiating everything around it. This is a Divine gift we can all give to the world everyday. Peace!

  8. Hi Therezinha ,

You can forward it to me using the Contact link at the top right of the blog (under my photo). I’ll take a look for sure.

  10. Thank you for reminding me that there is already abundance around me. Thank you for pointing out, in ways as if you were speaking directly to me, that if nothing else I am grateful for having choices. A choice to bask in the blessings that stretch before me every moment of every day. A choice to take a nap after a long day. A choice to attend many of the free, great performances my city has to offer that inspire the goodness of just being able to create.

For some reason today, I made the choice to read your words and they spoke volumes of infinite wisdom.

Thank you. Thank you! Thank you!!!!

I am in total agreement with you!

I FOR ONE, SINCE I CAN REMEMBER BEEN GRATEFUL FOR ALL I HAVE GOT!
WHEN THINGS GET ME DOWN AS IT DOES SOMETIMES, HOWEVER POSITIVE WE THINK, I ALWAYS THOUGHT TO MY SELF HOW FORTUNATE I HAVE BEEN ;TO ENJOY GOOD HEALTH, GOOD EDUCATION, AND ALL OTHER THINGS;AND ABOVE ALL THE OPPORTUNITY TO COME ACROSS GOOD BOOKS, PHILOSPHY TO FOLLOW ETC. I ALSO ENJOY AND THANK FOR ALL THAT IS NATURE, THE ANIMALS SPECIALLY. SO YOU ARE DOING GREAT BY REMINDING THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HOW EASILY YOU CAN FORGET TO BE GRATEFUL!

I am thankful to live in a country where there is no shortage of clean water.
Water cleans us,cools us,refreshes every cell of
us. . The cleanness of our lakes, rivers and oceans is essential for the health of mother Earth and her children. May we daily be aware of

  14. Dear Asoka,
It’s sychronicity. I have just finished a chapter on Gratitude for the Amazing Australian Abundance Course I am writing when your email arrived. Can I suggest that, for a week, you spend 10 minutes before you go to sleep, going over events and things that you are grateful for and appreciate. [What you appreciate in your life increases]. This will improve your sleep pattern and improve your early morning mental state.

    Blessings,

    Ken

  15. Thank you for your message Asoka. It has helped a lot of people to remember.

  16. thank you Asoka, for your great words of wisdom. I am grateful tohave found your ezine to grow higher spiritually.

  17. Yes Asoka, Gratitude, a powerful word, the more you are grateful the best you receive every day. In my experience just to open your eyes in the morning to see the beauty around you, to smell the nature, to feel the life itself, enough reasons to thank for. Thank you, Asoka for your words.

  18. Hello Asoka,
Yes I fully endorse your views. We normally think about things we don’t have and lament about them. We seldom think about things we have and are never grateful about them. Thinking positive, is what you want to emphasize, isn’t it!

  19. Thank you for this email. It actually came at a time when i have been feeling rather lacking in many ways, and i KNEW that i needed to be grateful about things , but it was very nicely put in the email, and it reminded me of what i needed to hear today. And so, I am grateful that you sent out this email with this information. thank you.

  20. Very well-timed this Article who make us remember an attitude that only for itself is able to uplift – whatever the moment – our state of mind.
And I point not only the Article but also all the remarkable comments you follow it, and among them the comment nr. 7 that I classify as excelent.
Thereby, this page of the Personal Growth Blog is a priceless one – always worth reading.
    Thanks very much to all.

Good manners are always in style. It costs nothing to say “thank you” outloud to those who do you a service and silently to “That that IS” when awed by the moment-by-moment reminderes of the amazeness of being!

  22. Hi Asoka,

Thank you for this article, it helped me to rethink about myself for a few minutes and and
be :grateful: The reason that you have not heard from me for a while is that I returned to Melbourne in April to look after my father. From that point on, he came down with pneumonia and did not really recover. It became a day to day
vigil. His walks became less and his outings less
until without our knowing and the Doctors, he was
suffering from renal failing This was five months later until I called the Doctor as he was moaning and int pain and he was taking by ambulance to the hospital. The doctors worked on him from 8 pm until 4 in the morning. I am my sister sat and watited until they said he was comfortable. He was admitted to a private room and he just declined until one week later he left us and he was gone. It was very difficult period and suddenly after six years of looking after both of our parents we were confronted with our brother in law who told us from this point on we really had no right to be in the house as he was Executor of the Will. This all in the same day. So we began the task of allocating furniture etc and cleaning the house. It was a very large two storied home, very beautiful. It took one of my sisters about two months to do this. Now I’m back in Perth for a little while as my son and
his partner have had a little girl and I’m surrounded by two other granddaughters 19 and 14, one adopted and now the little one. I’m due back in Melbourne as the house is up for sale, the auction on the 18th. It was the family home and my parents were Mama 87 and Dad 95. So I’m and cleaning up my own home and preparing myself for what is to come. I suppose I haven’t had time to grieve as I’m just so busy.
I thank you the nice words and I’m looking forward to my future – how it will be I cannot tell you yet.
Thouh I have had contact with my parents in spirit and my Dad tells me he has a lot to learn and if the baby had been a boy he would have been the Mentor. So this is where I am. I have a very old dog here that is progressively declining and I also lost a cousin recently. He was 85 as well. So for the moment I’m just dealing with the day to day things and to the beautiful trees and the river, the small ducks, the stars, the black skies at night and the early morning.

Thank you for this poem, it enabled me sit back for a moment and look at myself. My book of course is on hold.

  23. I’m grateful for my animals, my wonderful husband, the opportunity to meet interesting people, all the patience that people have shown me, the opportunity to touch and help people through my business, and getting to read everyones thoughts on this discussion forum!!

  24. hi Asoka, I just wanna thank you for the good message that you were able to write down with regards to how important it is to have gratitude, although, God the Creator of all things should be the object of that gratitude and it was not explicitly mentioned in your writing, nevertheless it’s a good start to be thankful for a lot of things that are around us, but I just hope that when people learn to be thankful, that ultimately people will realize that it is our Loving God who has made it possible for all people to enjoy all the good things that are around us.
